2010 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide

Posted by Martin Balerdi On October - 5 - 2009

The Wide Glide is a new addition to Harley-Davidson’s Dyna family. You can easily spot a Dyna by looking to see if the dual rear shocks are exposed and whether it has an underseat battery box. The Dyna series is a great way to get into a big twin Harley without having to put out a second mortgage, being relatively inexpensive. The base price for the Wide Glide is only about $14,500, which is practically a steal for what you’re getting. The moniker Wide Glide comes from the wide-placed 49mm fork laid out in a generous chopper-style rake of 34 degrees. There is consistent contrasting between the black and chrome, with wide chrome triple-clamps being accented by black handlebar clamps while the the 40-spoke wheels with black rims and the black headlight bucket are highlighted by a chrome bezel.

Unique to the Wide Glide is is a black battery box with a chrome “Wide Glide” logo, a mini sissy bar and a new two-into-one-into-two “Tommy Gun” exhaust with slotted heat shields over the rear header. The fuel tank(4.7 gallon) has been raised 0.75 in. while the suspension has been lowered to give you a seat height of 25.5 in. off the ground. The low seats increases the rider ergonomics and gives you a better sense of confidence while cruising.  In lieu of a traditional stoplight, the Wide Glide uses red-lens turnsignal lamps as stoplights. The Wide Glide comes in three different colors: vivid black, redhot sunglo, and vivid black with flames. This is a real nice-looking bike, with the graceful curves that Harley-Davidson is famous for.

SEADOO RXP-X255

Posted by Martin Balerdi On October - 1 - 2009

SEADOO, the aquatic vehicle company that is synonymous with high-velocity aquatic fun, came out with a new jet ski in 2009, the RXP-X255.  Jet skis are probably one of the most exciting things you can do out on the ocean besides hosting gladiator fights out in international waters.  They’re just one of those things that easily lend themselves to great times, able to kick up the fun notch on any beach day. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be able to shoot across the surface of the ocean like an arrow and we should also keep in mind that nobody gets killed by sharks while riding a jet ski.

The RXP-X255 is one sweet sea machine, able to sit up to 2 or 3 riders and has a fuel capacity of 15..9 gal.  It’s supercharged and has a closed-loop cooling system. It has 255 horse power and it’s displacement is 1,494 cc. The starter is electric and the ignition is digital inductive. The Bore x Stroke is 100 x 63.4mm and the compression ration is 8:4:1. The transmission is direct drive, forward/neutral/reverse and has a high performance Variable Trim System.

Measurements:

Length: 130 in.

Height: 46.5 in.

So if you’re looking to amp up your fun in the sun and smack a shark in the face, then it’s time to think SEA-DOO.

Lamborghini Reventón Roadster

Posted by A.I. On September - 11 - 2009

Looking curiously similar to the bat-mobile, Lamborghini will unveil it’s newest creation next week at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Pumping a scary 650 horsepower out of it’s Mid-Mounted V12 engine and reaching speeds of over 200 MPH, and acceleration of 0-60 in under 3.4 seconds (in a convertible mind you!), this beast is menacing.

Never mind that this car is topless. This isn’t your typical weekend convertible. The car isn’t designed to help you soak up the sun. This car is designed to help you howl at the moon.

While lesser vehicles are sleeping, and the streets are thirsty. While you push this animal to road-blurring speeds, laughing maniacally like a mad man (frothing at the mouth, screaming, dick hanging out, etc).

While your engine roars that indistinguishable Lamborghini war chant that sounds awfully like a large, rather smug looking Italian bull laughing in the face of the current economic crisis.

Go ahead, push that pedal a little harder. You earned it. [Hat tip - Source]

Alfa Romeo 8C GTA

Posted by A.I. On August - 13 - 2009

Alpha-8C

Some cars may try their damndest to imitate, but all fall far short of the Alpha Romeo 8C Competizione. In fact, the only thing that could possibly touch the powerful grace of the 8C must come directly from Alpha Romeo itself. Rumors and snippets of information have been flying on an upcoming 8C GTA to be released next March in Geneva. The GTA will incorporate a variety of carbon fiber upgrades to cut 300 pounds off the standard 8C’s weight. When combined with a new ECU and some other under-the-hood tinkering, the GTA is expected to pump well over 500 horses out of its 4.7-liter V8. Performance should be pushed close to the defining sub-4, 200 range. Car aficionados are so enthused about this upcoming release that they’re creating wild speculations as to its looks. So take a deep sigh of relief because that’s what that white-lipped monstrosity in the picture is all about (courtesy of the UK’s Auto Express). Thankfully, the only actual white mouths are ours as we wait for glimpse of the real deal. In the meantime, enjoy some sexy shots of the 8C after the break. [via AutoBlog]-Via

$100 Million Maltese Falcon Yacht

Posted by A.I. On August - 4 - 2009

malteseprice

The 289-ft. Maltese Falcon, the world’s largest, best designed, and most expensive sailing superyacht, has reportedly been sold for $100 million just a week after we reported the price had been slashed by $40 million. The incredible craft, which had at one point been listed as high as $165 million, was built by Perini Navi for venture capitalist Tom Perkins. The London Times reports Perkins has now found a buyer. “It has taken a while,” he conceded to the paper, noting his profit margin had shrunk somewhat. “It is not the best time in the world to sell it. I can’t tell you anything at all about the buyer. There is confidentiality.” With its three 20-story carbon fiber masts fully rigged the yacht can cross the Atlantic in 10 days. -Hat Tip
